Visualizing Visual Neural Pathways in VR
A NEUROANATOMY VR TOOL
Visualizing the human brain and its structures in three dimensions is a complex and overwhelming task. Sensory pathways such as visual neural pathways, are important but difficult to visualize.
With the rising popularity of extended reality in modern education, this tool will allow students or any person interested in Neuroanatomy to learn in a fun and engaging way. The tool promotes the advantages of XR learning through its immersive, unique and interactive capabilities.

The tool features an interactive brain that was constructed and modeled using T1-weighted MRI data. Users will learn about the visual neural pathway through brain cross-sections in a three dimensional space. In addition, users will be able to visualize the structures involved in the pathway and be guided through learning modules to understand how vision is processed.
With the rising popularity of extended reality in modern education, this tool will allow students or any person interested in Neuroanatomy to learn in a fun and engaging way. The tool promotes the advantages of XR learning through its immersive, unique and interactive capabilities. Virtual reality enables a user to have the ability to visualize complex structures in the brain in a way that is otherwise, impossible to see in a cadaver lab or web-based resources.
